Women's Djembe Drum Circle: Brown Skin Girl, What Will You Tell your Younger Self?
In this drum workshop, we will play the rhythm Mendiani by the Malinke ethnic group. Mendiani is played for girls ages six to sixteen. The young girls wear masks and are carried on the shoulders of the male dancers around the village. Then, the girls take off their masks and begin to dance Mendiani.
